Music and Worship Arts @ FUMC Katy Worship Team Meeting - August 30, 6:30pm. O SAY, CAN YOU SEE??? - The Holy Covenant United Methodist Church Chancel Choir from Katy, Texas, and the Festival Choir from First United Methodist Church, Katy, Texas, sang the National Anthem at the Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves baseball game on Tuesday night, August 10, 2010, at Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas. Taylor Davis, Director of Music at Holy Covenant, proudly conducted the 51 voice combined choir, and it proved to be a powerful rendition as the crowd really went wild with applause and shouts after the presentation. The game got off to a great start with the singing of the National Anthem, but the Astros failed to effectively close the game with an 8th inning lead to give the Atlanta Braves the upsetting (at least to the Astro fans) win. Astros may have lost, but the singers were winners as they proudly represented their faith, their local churches respectively, and their community and country!!!! Singers from FUMC Katy were: Sopranos - Kelli Dushane, Melina Cowan, Kelsey Peters, Danielle Pecht, Diane Paulsen, Joan Watson, Rebecca Ansley, Les Ann Hernandez, Mary Wiesner, Judy Feimster, Robin Giammaruti.
